Bishorjan (Bengali: বিসর্জন, English: Immersion) is a 2017 Bengali film directed by Kaushik Ganguly, starring Abir Chatterjee, and Joya Ahsan in lead roles. The film was produced by Opera Movies.At the 64th National Film Awards 2017, Kaushik Ganguly's Bishorjon bagged the Best Bengali Film award.

PLOT: It has been years since the partition of India and Bangladesh. Rivers flow down the border between the two lands. Bishorjon is the story of love between Bangladesh and West Bengal. Padma, a Hindu widow, who lives in a dilapidated house with her paralyzed father-in-law, finds an injured man, lying unattended near a river in Bangladesh. She rescues him and brings him home. She, however, later learns that he is a Muslim from India, named Nasir Ali. Bishorjon released in April, 2017. Bishorjon was directed by Kaushik Ganguly and starred Abir Chatterjee, Jaya Ashan and Kaushik Ganguly himself.

As Ganesh Mandal

Kaushik Ganguly is an Indian director, screenwriter and actor in Bengali cinema. He is known for his works that explore sexuality, like Ushnatar Janye (2003), which deals with a lesbian relationship, and Arekti Premer Golpo (2010), which examines transgender identity. His other films explore various social issues.

As Padma

Jaya Ahsan is a Bangladeshi actress and model who works in Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali films. She received three Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her roles in Guerrilla (2011), Chorabali (2012) and Zero Degree (2015).

As Nasir

Abir Chatterjee is an Indian actor who mainly works in Bengali cinema. He is the son of theater personalities Phalguni and Rumki Chatterjee. He started his career with Bengali television and made his debut in Bengali cinema in 2009 as a lead with Cross Connection.
